I just jammed that speed test out here inside a big metal gym in Culver City, CA.
Not bad.
Setting up bluetooth DUN with the new storm is as easy as it was with Blackberry 8830 on Mac OS X. You just need to set up a Bluetooth profile in Network Preferences.
Phone # is #777

under Advanced -> Modem, set it it to Dial Up Device
This is a useful post out there that I used in my original 8830 experience.
That’s it!
Oh yeah, you have to have the Broadband Access plan and it’s best to get the unlimited data plan for obvious reasons.
Sweet!

Do you have to pay for the tethering option from verizon?
Or should this work regardless. Currently when I tether my storm a webpage pops up…
dunsp.vzw.com
asking me to pay the extra tethering fee.
Yes, you have to have the data plan from Verizon. There are 2 plans, I think.
It used to have an unlimited. but now the highest you can get is like 5Gbs. I use the data a lot for tons of random things and haven’t exceeded 5gbs.
I’ve also used tethering on the other major networks and VZW is fastest by far.
i just got all the bluetooth features from my Storm 9530 workin on my hp mini i bought from verizon…i just randomly clicked the bluetooth dun network option on the network field and now i’m connected….pretty damn cool i think
