About Russell

Russell Foltz-Smith is a respected business development executive, technical leader and product innovator is a father, thinker, doer, writer, artist, hack, programmerish type, hyper active guy who will do whatever it takes.  He is a veteran of new media, online advertising ventures and search engines a n00b in what comes next, as we all are. His career experiences involve a series of successes experiments in the rapid development and explosive growth of innovative interactive experiences.  And frankly some shit that isn’t that innovative.

Over a 10 13  14 year period, Russ has launched more than 75 100? web products with several key market valuation successes [and a bunch of mobile/facebook/newfangled  app thingies that didn’t do much but were good learnings].  Many Just a couple of large venture capital firms and established media companies turn to Russell for early stage company development and/or M/A activity getting shit done at all levels of doing.  Russell’s experience includes key leadership roles with TruecCar, Weplay, Wolfram|Alpha, Citysearch/IAC, Business.com, AlphaMediaGroup, Hachette Filipacci, PureVideo and other engineering and strategic engagements with Yahoo!, SupplyFrame, eHarmony, Reunion.com/MyLife, and American Greetings.

Outside of strict business pursuits, Russell actively researches and writes about learning theory, human behavior, mathematics and economics [and now attempts to make art and music others may care about, but he’s not very good yet].  He holds has a degree in mathematics from the University of Chicago.  He lives in Venice, CA AUSTIN TEXAS!  Marina Del Rey, CA with his wife and two daughters.
